We are delighted to announce we are a Training Provider Partner of CIMSPA and our Shallow Water with Noodles Aqua Instructor course is now endorsed by CIMSPA.
We love to music in our classes, here Dawn tells us what works for her, let us know what works for you.
You know your participants and tend to know what & ‘pushes their buttons’ with
regards to music but it always worth throwing them a curve ball once in a while. My
daytime demographic love the 60s, 70s and 80s but every now and again I’ll put on
some Salsa music and make the class a little more dance based for a change. In
the evenings my classes respond more to the 90s and noughties but they still sing
along to Abba.
One thing I keep the same whatever music I play is the tempo. I like it upbeat. It
motivates people to move whether they can keep up with it or not and the majority of
the time they do. So don’t be afraid to crank it up a bit and see how they respond.
Meet Dawn – Dawn teaches our Shallow Water with Noodles Instructor course and our workshops. Dawn has been teaching aqua classes since 2001 and says “my approach to water based exercise is dynamic and diverse, I constantly use different ways to train participants to reach their full potential”
Working with Dawn is great fun, she is full of ideas for new class formats, equipment and styles of teaching. We have a great time delivering workshops together. Dawn contributes to the blog regularly, look out for her pearls of wisdom.

Thanks for checking out our website and blog, let me introduce myself. I am Sarah Booth, the training and development director for H2O Fit, basically that means I wrote the courses.
I have been teaching aqua classes for over 12 years having been in the fitness industry for 16 years. I set up H2O Fit to share my passion of teaching aqua classes with other fitness professionals. I specifically wrote the Shallow water with noodles instructor course because I wanted all instructors who came on our courses to be able to teach a class with the most popular form of equipment with confidence upon completing our course.
I want the studio instructors to join us on poolside and see how much fun teaching water based classes can be, by teaching them the benefits of exercising in water and how versatile water based classes can be for all levels of fitness, age, size and ability.
I have a great team of tutors behind me who all have a passion for water based fitness, who are full of amazing ideas for workshops and class formats and who want to help train our student to be the best aqua instructors out there.
